How Medrano Roofing inc Came to Be
A Family Owned Business Based on Family Values, Hard Work, and Honesty
Teo Medrano’s Story:
I came from humble beginnings, born in a little town called Anamoros’, La Union’, El Salvador. I knew I would have to work hard to change my circumstances. At the young age of 14, I started developing an interest in business. I would buy and sell goods for a profit while also attending school full time. While in High School, through hard work and dedication, I became a distributor for a clothing manufacturer. This opportunity allowed me to put myself through College, working towards a degree as an Agricultural Engineer. I first attended Junior College at Colegio Superior De Comercio in San Miguel and completed a Two-year program. Then I enrolled at the University of El Salvador to work towards my master’s degree. Because of the instability of the economy in El Salvador and the struggles caused by the civil war, I could not finish his college education.
In 1985, I had to make one of the biggest decisions I had ever made in my life, stay in El Salvador or come to the U.S. in search of a brighter future. Ultimately, I took a leap of faith and moved to the U.S. to pursue the opportunity for a better life. Even though there was no guarantee of success, I knew I had to do something. After coming to America I started working in the fields to get by, then I became a dishwasher in a restaurant.

The Start of One of the Best Roofing Contractors in all of Southern California
I started my journey in the roofing industry in 1986, working for BSW Roofing. After working as a helper to a roofing contractor at BSW Roofing for a year, I moved on to work at Garcia Roofing. While working at Garcia Roofing, I dedicated my time to learning as much as I could about the industry and worked my way up to become the best roofing contractor I could be. The owner of Garcia Roofing chose me to be a part of a team that traveled to 25 different locations around the world doing work for the American Embassy from 1996 to 2002. This once in a lifetime opportunity gave me a unique perspective and experience most people do not get. After working for Garcia Roofing for 14 years, I worked for a year with RLH Fire Protection.
At this point in my life, I felt like I had gained enough knowledge and experience to start a partnership with Castro Roofing. From 2002 to 2006, I experienced what it was like to be in a leadership role managing my own roofing team. Working as an equal partner instead of an employee gave me the confidence I needed to take another leap of faith by pursuing my own Contractors License and starting a business of my own.
In 2006 I started Medrano Roofing with the support and encouragement of my wife, Angela Medrano. Together, we worked hard to build our business into what it is today. I believe having a strong relationship with my employees is key and has created a family atmosphere. I now have 20 plus employees working for me. Most employees have been with me since the beginning.
Throughout my travels I have had the pleasure of working at multiple embassies across the globe. Here is a list of the various embassies I have done work at as well as a world map showing the venture across the seas.
Utah, Mexico, Guatemala, El Salvador, Honduras, Nicaragua, Costa Rica, Morocco, France, Germany, Romania, Syria, Jordan, Saudi Arabia, Djibouti, Ethiopia, Somalia, Mongolia, China, Laos, Thailand, Hong Kong, Japan, Philippines, Singapore, and Jakarta
